Tonight’s X Factor saw the judges revealing who will be going through to the Judges Houses stage of the competition and who has reached the end of the road.
Among the successful hopefuls going through to the next round were Jade Richards, Terry Winstanely, Frankie Cocozza and girl band 2 Shoes.
After the big reveal, judges Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh found out which categories they will be mentoring.
Tulisa was keen to get the Groups and Gary and Louis wanted the Boys. Gary said:
“If I get the Groups or the Overs I’m leaving.”
Kelly added: “I have a feeling they’re going to give me the Boys. I’m very nervous.”
The hopefuls were waiting in four separate rooms as the judges approached. Gary was first to learn his fate as he walked into his room and found that he had gotten the Boys. He said:
“Oh my goodness, I can’t believe it, and you know what the lucky thing for you guys is, this is my first year and I’m going to be on you 24 hours a day.
“I want to share with you my 20 years of experience in this industry and help you to be by the end of the competition the best that you can be. I’m so thrilled. We’re going to Los Angeles.”
Louis found out he had got the Overs and he’ll be taking them to Barcelona, while Kelly was thrilled to get the Girls. She said:
“Oh boy, are we going to have some fun. Oh my God, we’ve got to win this, confidence is key, I’m here for you, I really mean that.”
The girls were excited to be going to Miami, while Tulisa, who will be mentoring the Groups, will be taking her hopefuls to Greece. Speaking backstage Tulisa said:
“I now want to be the first X Factor judge to take the groups to the finals and win the competition. Here comes the competition, now I’m ready.”
