It has been confirmed that the X Factor 2011 final will be held at London’s Wembley Arena.
Rumours have been circulating for some time regarding the location of this year’s final, but TalkTalk – the show’s sponsor – has now confirmed the move to Wembley Arena, with a capacity of over 10,000.
This is substantially greater than the 400-seater Fountain Studios, where the live shows will continue to be held and where the final also took place in previous series.
X Factor host Dermot O’Leary enthused: “The live final in front of 10,000 people at Wembley each night will be incredible. No nerves for me, I can’t wait.
“When you’re working on the biggest show on TV you’re always not nervous, but excited.
“You keep the nerves under control, that’s the challenge. It’s easy to turn around and go, ‘Oh my God, 15 million people are watching this’, but you always just try and play to the people in the room with you.”
TalkTalk will give away 100 tickets to the final over 100 days from next Tuesday on their official Facebook page.
Series 8 of The X Factor commences at 8pm tonight on ITV1.
