Haddad recently insisted that Scherzinger had always been a ‘front-runner’ for the X Factor USA judging job and said that he believes Cheryl Cole was hired to publicise the series before eventually axing the Geordie singer.

Scherzinger responded to the claim, saying: ‘I was very hurt by that because that was my ex-manager who said that.

‘It unfortunately goes to show how much he doesn’t know because the people at Freemantle and all the powers that be have no idea who he is because he wasn’t involved.

The Pussycat Doll added: ‘Cheryl’s a lovely girl and she’s going to make the best decisions for her. She’s going to be great.’

Scherzinger was originally lined up to host the talent show with Welsh presenter Steve Jones, but later became Cheryl Cole’s replacement when it was announced that the Girls Aloud singer had been given the boot.

The US star has insisted that she still considers Chezza a ‘great friend’ however.
