Frankie Cocozza x factor

X Factor wannabe Frankie Cocozza has apologised to viewers for showing his bum to the judges on the ITV1 reality show, following around 50 complaints after Saturday’s programme. Speaking to Daybreak yesterday, Frankie said he was “really sorry” for the incident.

Ofcom confirmed yesterday evening it had received around 50 complaints over the opening episode of the new series, which saw new judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland make their debut.

Frankie, who was the first auditionee on the launch show, flashed his bum to the panel after revealing he had seven girls’ names tattooed on his rear cheeks.

Speaking yesterday morning, Frankie said: “It wasn’t planned. I would like to say now to everyone watching, if you thought that it was the wrong thing to do, I’m really sorry.

“When you’re up there, I reckon if they’d told me to attempt a backflip, I probably would have done it.”

The 19-year-old, who hails from Brighton, said however he had no regrets about exposing himself to N-Dubz star Tulisa after saying she didn’t believe his story.

“I thought it was funny. I hope most people watching it did,” he laughed.

Explaining how the tattoos came about, Frankie said: “I was working in a bar in Malia and these Scottish girls came in every night.

“When I was drunk I said I’d get their names tattooed on my bum if they paid. But I only slept with one of them.”
