According to the Mail Online, Simon Cowell surprised the judging panel by making a return to the UK X Factor today.
Although Cowell only popped in to see how the new judges were getting on without him, it has sparked rumours that he may be returning as a guest judge.
The new judges – Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and Gary Barlow – are reported to have settled in just fine, but as always Cowell took the opportunity to poke fun at Louis Walsh.
Speaking to the 10,000 crowd at the O2 arena in London, he said: “Shall I take Louis’ seat?”
In a recent interview with Alex James on his In Demand radio show, Olly Murs, the host of the Xtra Factor, suggested that Cowell will be called in at the ‘judges’ houses’ stage of the show to help his replacement, Take That’s Gary Barlow.
He said: “I just feel that Simon will want to come back at some point, just to show his face.”
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Cowell and Cheryl Cole are back on speaking terms.
A source told Heat magazine: “Cheryl and Simon had a long conversation and they’ve agreed to patch things up. Simon had texted Cheryl numerous times with no reply and Cheryl finally called him and broke down about everything that had happened.”
